A Day in the Life Of

Stuart Davies
Stuart DaviesRegional Operations Director

It’s time to meet another valued member of the John F Hunt Power team. Following his recent success at the 2020 Festival Supplier Awards, picking up the Unsung Hero Award, what better time to turn our attention to one of our Regional Operations Directors, Stuart Davies.

Responsible for the day to day operations in our depots, our Regional Ops Directors play a crucial role in ensuring our clients receive the levels of customer service they have come to expect from us.

Since joining the company as a Hire Controller in 2006, Stuart has gone on to become a vital member of the team, spending five years as Depot Manager in our Halesowen depot, before being promoted to his current role last year.

Now, with more than a decade’s knowledge in multiple roles across the business, Stuart is an experienced point of contact for our varied customer base and provides key support and leadership for our team of Depot Managers and Hire Controllers.

“I joined the company in 2006 having never worked in the industry before. It didn’t take long for me to realise that John F Hunt Power was a well-respected name within the temporary power sector, that was always willing to go the extra mile for its clients. I am proud to say that this is as true today as it was when I joined the company fourteen years ago.”
“I work with our teams in our Midlands, North East and Scotland depots to make sure every client receives the best possible service from us, whilst our other Regional Ops Director, Rocky Sivell, is responsible for our depots in the South East and Bristol.”

With so many of our customers operating all over the UK, one of the most important parts of Stuart’s role is to ensure the same practises of work are adhered to in every one of our depots.

“Although I spend a lot of my time in our Midlands depot, Rocky and I are regularly travelling around the country to our other depots. Our customers expect the exact same level of service and quality of kit wherever they’re working, so it is important to make sure all of our depots operate in the same way.”

“We have a great team of depot managers, who between them have many years of experience in the industry, which is important, as this part of my job is vital for us in maintaining our many ISO, RISQS and FORS accreditations.”

At John F Hunt Power we are just as committed to preparing for the future of the temporary power industry as much as looking after the present, which is another key part of Stuart’s role.

“Over the next few years there will be many changes to the generator industry as more and more attention is given to efficiency and environmental concerns. With the introduction of Stage V Generators into our fleet, we have already shown our commitment to being a front runner in this area and we are constantly looking at innovative ways to provide the most efficient service possible. Along with that, and the continual investment in our hire fleet, it looks like an exciting few years for us all at John F Hunt Power as we move in to the 2020’s”.
