After the recent successful sponsorship deal with British Superbike rider Ben Currie, John F Hunt Power is proud to announce its latest sponsorship. The temporary power supply business is now supporting Javelin champion Louise Lacy.
The 30-year-old athlete from Essex works full time as a Ward Sister within Acute Respiratory at Basildon Hospital but still finds time to train and compete.
“This year, we’ve decided to support young, promising talented athletes as we believe we can help them powering up their careers. No one can remain indifferent to Louise’s ambition, determination and passion for what she does. We believe she has everything to succeed and that’s something that we, as a company, want to be a part of”, says David Hunt, John F Hunt Power’s Managing Director.
Louise Lacy returned to Javelin training in November 2018, after giving birth to her daughter in August 2018 by C-section.
“I made it my intention to return back to the sport I love, but not to be a bit-part thrower, I want to be a contender”, says Louise.
And, so far, her results prove her determination. 2019 has seen her winning the Essex County Championship and the South of England Championship for the second time in her career as well as the Southern Inter-counties. She also finished 7th at the England Senior Champs with her second best throw of the year… under torrential rain.
This August Bank Holiday weekend, she will be competing at the British Athletics World Trials in Birmingham, having achieved the invitation standard earlier this year.

Louise’s personal best throw is 49.25m set in 2018 but she expects to surpass it in 2020. “My main aim is to become the British Champion and I will leave no stone unturned in my pursuit of this in 2020”.
