We are currently looking for a Depot Chargehand to join our busy depot in Halesowen.
As a Chargehand you will be expected to support the Depot Foreman with all day-to-day engineering requirements of the depot, as well as providing cover for the Foreman as required.
In this role you be predominately depot based, with some field-based work as and when the business requires.
The job comes with a competitive salary, 25 days paid annual leave, plus Bank Holidays. You will be provided with a company vehicle, mobile phone and laptop.
Responsibilities include (but are not restricted to) the following:
- Helping the Foreman in overseeing a team of engineers, manage servicing schedules, stock levels and repairs.
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and pre-delivery inspections on a varied fleet of temporary power equipment
- Fault finding i.e. Control panel, AC/DC Electrical Systems
- Mechanical and Electrical repairs
- Genset Synchronisation
- Out of hours on call Rota (to include Bank Holidays)
- Liaising directly with customers to provide remote technical assistance
- Adhering to and encouraging Health & Safety best practices, ensuring all work is carried out in line with company procedures at all times
Desired skills and experience:
We are looking for a well organised individual who has/is;
- Experience of working in the temporary power industry
- NVQ in plant maintenance/equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Capability to prioritise workload to ensure the needs of our busy hire depot are fulfilled
- Full UK driving licence held for minimum of 3 years
- Ability to work as part of and lead a team
- Able to communicate with colleagues on all levels
- Eager to ensure excellent customer service levels at all times
- Forklift licence preferable (training provided if required)
